Course objective –
I. Understand the fundamental principles of Phytochemistry
II. Identify new sources of therapeutically and industrially important secondary metabolites like alkaloids flavonoids phenolic compounds saponins steroids tannins Terpenoids.
Course outcome –
At the end of the course students should be able to
I. Summarize basics of phytochemistry along with their applications in quality control and analysis of phytomedicines.
II. Explain the basics of Primary and Secondary metabolites along with their therapeutic efficacy.
III. Explain different analytical techniques employed for basics in phytochemistry
